Lizzy Le Quesne teaches Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) in a range of contexts from skilled professional dancers, to artists of all kinds and to those just beginning to become acquainted with their physical selves.
Lizzy has a background in classical ballet, with a BA in fine art (Brighton Polytechnic), MA in dance studies (Laban Centre) and extensive somatic training and practise. She is an independent artist working across media: predominantly in performance, photography, moving image and text. She was based for several years in the Czech Republic including a year as British Council Artist in Residence at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts and as guest teacher at the Conservatory of Modern Dance before returning to London in 2005. She has lectured on the BA Dance and Visual Art at Brighton University for 6 years and has been teachng the SRT Introductory series nationally and internationally since 2011.
Lizzy's work has been presented internationally including at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Prague; Berlin Art Fair; Kyoto Arts Centre. Site-based work has been presented at Prague Castle, shopping centres/offices/public spaces in London, NYC, Prague, Berlin and Southend. Choreographic work has been presented at The Hackney Empire, Place Theatre, The National Theatre, Prague and at art festivals worldwide.
She writes and broadcasts on art, dance, performance, photography and somatic practice for international arts and culture journals and publications.
