The Music from Silent Music
Silent Music tells the story of a group of musicians in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is also a novel of ideas, as well as being a vignette of a crucial historical moment of change, the backdrop to a tragic denouement. But the band and its members and their music are central to the novel.
OneHand, a cottage-industry NPO record label, has chosen from over 150 hours of studio recordings from the band, recorded between 1975 and 1989, and released three albums.
Proceeds from all sales (after a 2% fee is levied by the website owners - Bandcamp) go directly to Young Minds, a charity that helps improving the emotional well-being and mental health of children and young people.
The releases are all by Old Time Hockey*
These are
Quel Fromage, the band’s final recordings made less than two months before their demise in 1989.

Two Sides, Same Coin, a double album, being sold as two separate albums. The first album is, as it was originally released, five tracks recorded winter 1987/88. The second album is one studio track (“Wintergarden”) from the same sessions that didn’t fit on to the album, and two live recordings from February 1988, recorded in Stockholm. The two live tracks can be found in studio versions on the studio album of Two Sides, Same Coin and a single. The other side of the single is the only ‘cover’ track, Nick Drake’s ‘River Man’, in an arrangement for voice, double bass, accordion and guitar.
