A WALK with Phil Smith
A Blazing Worlds Walk was a mythogeographic walk led by Phil Smith (Artist-in-Residence at Carleton College in May 2016).
It was 'A performative wander setting avatars loose in Utopia, and taking more than a few leaves from the book of the Duchess of Newcastle’s ideal world.' Phil Smith returns to source materials in this search for ciphers and plans, test dummies and blueprints, dramatis personae and the Big Rock Candy Mountains on the streets of the town.
In the film below (split into 3 parts) Phil returns after the public walk to perform it again 'privately' for the camera (Held by the mayor).
